In today’s world English is the lingua franca and so it goes without saying that almost wherever you go, people know how to speak the language. Therefore, English is definitely going to be the language to communicate in wherever you are, and whoever you meet. And you never know who you’ll meet and get a chance to speak to! Our playgroups mean that your child’s first contact with a foreign language is a pleasant and relaxed one. We place great emphasis on creating a creative atmosphere and a pleasant environment for the children to become acquainted with the language.
If your child’s school does not offer English lessons already in the first year, if you wish to provide your child with a quality upgrade of the primary school programme or if you wish to give your child the opportunity to experience a different approach to learning English, we offer you various courses which suit your child’s age and prior knowledge.
The goal of the courses for secondary school students is to improve the students’ grammar as well as to deepen their knowledge of the culture of English-speaking countries with an emphasis on understanding cultural diversity and the historical development of the English language.
If you are planning to enrol at a university or are already studying, ask yourself the following: Will some of my course materials be written in English? Will I have to spend a certain period of time abroad as part of my studies? Do I perhaps wish to study or work in a foreign country sometime in the future? If you answered ‘yes’ to at least one of the questions above, then your secondary-school knowledge of English most definitely will not be sufficient and it is vital that you keep up your level of English, and improve it.

The course is based around the types of texts and tasks that students come across in the Matura exam. At Pionirski dom we closely follow topical changes to the exam and guarantee that our courses are adapted to the requirements of the Matura exam.
The first impression might be that it is tough and unkind, but German is the language of many giants of the literary, composers’, scientific and artistic world, such as Goethe and Schiller, Thomas Mann and Franz Kafka, the Grimm brothers, the great composers Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, as well as some unsurpassable sportspeople like Steffi Graf and Boris Becker.

French is regarded as a language of love, culture, fashion, literature, music, and world-famous cuisine. Some of the most famous French names include Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire, Edith Piaf, Gerard Depardieu and Brigitte Bardot.
Did you know that half of the English vocabulary originates from French? Knowing French will not only help you learn other Romance languages, but also assist you in learning English.

With its fine melody, Italian is considered to be a very musical and melodious language, used by many well-known musicians, from Eros Ramazzotti to Luciano Pavarotti. Italy is also known for its tourist attractions (almost 80 % of the world’s cultural heritage lies in Italy), such as Venice, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Rome, Pompeii and Sicily. Hence, knowing the local language can benefit you greatly while visiting these places.
While learning Japanese you will learn the Japanese alphabet (Hiragana and Katakana) and Kanji characters. Furthermore, you will become acquainted with the exotic and culturally rich Land of the Rising Sun, its customs and interesting sights.
Learning about Japanese culture will allow you to better understand typical and well-known Japanese anime cartoons and manga comics, films, Japanese music, the art of paper folding (origami), and shodo calligraphy.
The knowledge of Chinese will let you discover an exotic and interesting language, with a rich cultural and historic background. You will also explore the customs and famous sights of China, such as The Forbidden City, The Great Wall of China, to name but a few. Join us in being exceptional!
The famous Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin made Russian the first language heard in space. It is a beautiful, poetic and melodious language, intertwined with a rich cultural and artistic background, including classical literature and the world-renowned ballet. Children will be definitely happy to watch their favourite cartoon “Masha and the Bear” in its original language.
Latin is still a very useful language; it can assist you with your studies in natural sciences, history, law, art history, and other similar studies. Latin is the foundation of all Romance languages, as well as many others, which makes it the ultimate helping tool for studying any foreign language.
Have you heard about the legendary cartoon character Professor Balthazar? Do you know where “The Little Flying Bears” dwell? Has it come to your attention that you do not understand your neighbouring summer friends very well and that you need to talk to them in English? If so, the best choice for you is to start learning Croatian, its culture and literature. Croatia is a fairy tale of a land of a thousand islands, picturesque nature, rich cultural heritage, and prominent people who wrote themselves down on the historical map of Central and Southeastern Europe.
All our courses are designed for different age groups and levels, from complete beginners to those who already have a knowledge of the language. The content of each course is adaptable, depending on the participants’ goals and needs. That is why we make it possible for you to enrol in individual lessons or lessons in pairs. Depending on the language you choose, you can pick from 45-minute or 60-minute lessons, the entire programme (time-wise and programme-wise) is tailored to your wishes and needs.
